Technologies such as IoT and advanced image recognition systems offer a wide range of optimization options especially for logistics. So far, however, this topic is still in its infancy in many companies. It is precisely because logistics is an interplay of the most diverse partners, each with its own unique starting point, that the question of financing new technological solutions is particularly complex. For example, an industrial company may be motivated to automate its courtyard logistics, but a logistics service provider does not have the means to adapt to a multitude of different solutions for its customers.
